Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 April 2026
These terms govern the relationship between Niki Gatrell trading as North Labs ("we", "us", "our") and any client or user ("you") who engages our services or uses our website at northlabs.co.uk.
1. Who We Are
North Labs is a trading name of Niki Gatrell, a sole trader based in North East England. For enquiries, contact us at discovery@northlabs.co.uk.
2. Services
We provide web design and development, business automation, AI tools and related digital services. The specific scope, deliverables and fees for your project are set out in a separate written agreement, proposal or quote confirmed by both parties.
3. Quotations
All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. A quote does not constitute a binding agreement until confirmed in writing by both parties and a deposit has been received.
4. Payment Terms
Payment schedules are agreed at project start and depend on project value:
- Projects under £2,000: 50% deposit to begin work; 50% on completion before final delivery.
- Projects of £2,000 and above: 25% deposit to begin work; 25% at the agreed midpoint; 50% before final delivery and launch.
The payment schedule applied to your project is at our discretion and will be agreed with you in writing before work begins. Invoices are due within 14 days. We reserve the right to pause work on accounts with overdue invoices.
5. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate business information, content, assets and feedback in a timely manner.
- Respond to requests for information or approval within 5 working days. Delays caused by late client responses may affect agreed timelines.
- Ensure you have the right to use any materials (images, text, logos) you provide to us.
6. Intellectual Property
All work created by North Labs remains our intellectual property until final payment has been received in full. On receipt of final payment, ownership of the agreed deliverables transfers to you.
We retain the right to display completed work in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing.
7. Revisions and Scope
Each project includes a set number of revision rounds as agreed in your quote. Requests that fall outside the agreed scope will be quoted separately and require written approval before work begins.
8. Cancellation
If you cancel a project after work has begun:
- The deposit is non-refundable.
- Any work completed beyond the deposit stage will be invoiced at a pro-rata rate.
- We will provide you with all completed work to date.
If we are unable to complete a project, we will refund any fees paid for work not yet carried out.
9. Timelines
We will provide an estimated timeline at project start. Timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Delays caused by client dependencies (content provision, approvals, third-party access) will extend the timeline accordingly.
10. Hosting and Third-Party Services
Where we recommend or configure third-party services (hosting, CRM, automation platforms), you are responsible for your own accounts and any costs associated with those services. We are not liable for outages, changes or price increases made by third-party providers.
11. Plugin and Software Downloads
The Google Maps Listings Scraper and any other tools available for download on northlabs.co.uk are provided free of charge and "as is". We make no guarantees as to their fitness for purpose. Use of these tools is entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from their use.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the total fees paid by you for the project in question.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost data or damage to your reputation.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
